WHAT IS AN ATELIER?
“Atelier” is the French name for a creative workshop or design studio. They are places that foster artistic expression and craftsmanship, but they are also places of learning. At La Donna Bridal Atelier, we bring all of this to the process of creating your Bridal Gown or Custom Womenswear garments. A stylist will work with you to design or customize the exact gown or garment of your dreams by walking you through options like fabric, embroidery, and silhouettes, reviewing your sources of inspiration, and sketching your dream from scratch.
WHO IS LA DONNA?
La Donna Bridal Atelier is operated by Franco Uomo, Silicon Valley’s Premier Custom Menswear Boutique. For 18 years, our family-owned business has been the most trusted custom wedding suit designer in Silicon Valley. In 2020, we opened La Donna Bridal Atelier to bring our custom design service and expert craftsmanship and tailoring to the women our grooms are marrying.
While “Uomo” is Italian for “Man” reflecting the heritage of our Italian tailoring, “Donna” is Italian for “Woman.”
La Donna is YOU; the center of our focus and the source of the inspiration for our creations.
THE PROCESS
Each client can select a gown from our House Collection or create a Custom Couture Gown designed by yourself with the expertise of our bridal consultants and designers. All pieces are made to your exact measurements and our 3 fittings ensure the absolute perfect fit and feel. Our gowns can be customized in any way to create your absolute dream dress using the finest elements such as the most delicate lace, duchess satin’s, beautiful silks all carefully hand beaded, stitched, and embroidered by experts.
STEP ONE
Our initial consultation appointment ensures all your visions are collaborated to create the perfect dress. Appointments are required to try on any of our House Collection gowns. At your private appointment we can customize all details of custom wedding gowns from silhouette to neckline. Our sketch artist can draw out each element to ensure correct vision, and our bridal consultants perfect the design to ensure proper fit to accentuate and compliment every figure.
STEP TWO
Once we have your garment started, we will require our first fitting where we will pin and review details to ensure correct route. Following this fitting we will schedule another fitting to reassess the garment fit and feel. Finally, we will schedule a final fitting to completely confirm everything is flawless. In these fittings we will accessorize your garment with the appropriate veil, jewelry, and hair pieces from our exclusive luxury collection.
STEP THREE
Upon competition of your custom gown, we can schedule a grand reveal for your most dearest. At this point, you have the option to add light bites and sparkling beverages for this mini party! Additional charges per person will apply. Your final garment will be steamed to perfection and securely placed in a garment bag showcasing your masterpiece made exclusively at La Donna Bridal Atelier.
Additional Notes:
Although our production time frames are unmatched, starting the process in advance is advised to lift the stress of the biggest element of your special day. We can accommodate shorter time frames in as quick as 1 month. Please contact us to discuss your options.
For all appointments we advise keeping your guest list at about two family/friends to keep your focus on design consultation and clear of distractions. (Exception at final reveal)
La Donna Bridal Atelier House Collection gowns range from $3,495 and up. This price includes all fittings, neckline, sleeve, and silhouette customization’s.
La Donna Bridal Atelier Custom Couture Collection ranges higher and includes custom design sketch, exclusive couture design, and additional elements and/or embellishments.
We can accommodate different budgets; this can be discussed at initial consultation.
